We operate Pocket ATC, a drone coordination platform designed to allow users to locate drone remote IDs, share geolocation data, and identify when drones are detected.
We are the “data controller” under the General Data Protection Regulation.
2. What Data We Collect

Email address (required)
Unique device identifier (internally generated)
B. Location Data
Real-time GPS location when the user is monitoring active drones.
Drone remote ID signals derived from Bluetooth/WiFi scans.
C. Operational Data
Time-stamped map interaction data
D. Technical Data
IP address
Log files for security and diagnostics
3. Purpose of Processing
We process personal data for:
Account management and subscriptions
Displaying live location of participants
Identifying drone operators and participants via device identifiers
Ensuring platform safety and abuse prevention
Responding to deletion requests
Legal compliance
Legal basis under GDPR:
Article 6(1)(b) – Performance of a contract
Article 6(1)(a) – Consent (location sharing & Bluetooth scanning)
Article 6(1)(f) – Legitimate interest (security and fraud prevention)
4. Special Note on Location Data
Location data is considered highly sensitive under EU law. By activating the app, users explicitly consent to real-time geolocation sharing with other participants on the platform.
Users may disable location services at any time by logging out of the app.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data.
Data may be shared with:
Other active participants on the app
Authorities where legally required
If data is transferred outside the EU, we ensure safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
6. Data Retention
Account data: retained until account deletion
Location history: we do not retain location history
Logs: retained for up to 3 days
Data deletion requests are processed manually upon request via the deletion link.
